why we’re here

Hi there,

I’m Tara, owner of Peace Love Autism.

When my son was 18 months old, he was diagnosed with autism. For a long time I felt stuck in the grieving process, unaware that so much good (challenging, yes) but good times were ahead.

Finding connection was hard for me, so I sought community by trying to peek into the windows of other’s lives on social media. I wanted a glimpse into my future, a sign that a mom like me was still smiling and living life without so much despair that I was feeling at the time.

Coming up short on my search for someone I could check in with daily, get that glimpse and also feel seen in the hard moments, I decided to document my own journey and hopefully be that soft spot for other special needs mamas to land.

Building community was important, but I also needed a passion project to incorporate my skillsets and create something with meaning and of course, style.

Queue Peace Love Autism, an online shop filled with products and designs you won’t just want to wear in the month of April or an occasional event.

These were made to spread the message of acceptance, awareness, understanding, inclusion, advocacy and love all year long.

My hope is that you feel seen in this community and stylish in your Peace Love Autism threads.

Thank you for being here + all the virtual love and hugs are being sent your way.

-Tara

Your Money Matters

Peace Love Autism is officially partnered with The Channing’s Joy Foundation.

A portion of our profits each quarter will go to this organization where 100% of proceeds are donated to families caring for children and adults with special needs.

Lauren, the founder of Channing’s Joy is a fellow autism mama and one of my best friends in the entire world. Working with her to spread autism awareness and acceptance is icing on our friendship cake!
